Headway Norfolk and Waveney was founded in 1992, beginning as a small group of volunteers working in the coastal community of Gorleston. Since registering as a charity in 1994 we have grown significantly and today, we help hundreds of clients, family, friends and carers each year across the entire region of Norfolk and Waveney.
Headway Norfolk and Waveney has three area teams. We deliver activities across our 7 centres, support clients toward individual goals as part of our region-wide outreach service and offer 11 monthly carer and peer support groups in-person and online. We are proud to run several emerging projects in our local community which provide support in a number of ways to those impacted by brain injury, including a recent partnership with the Norfolk and Waveney probation service.
Our teams are primarily funded via adult social care. We also have a dedicated Occupational Therapy team providing specialist brain injury support and therapy to families, carers, loved ones and professionals across the area. This therapy team is primarily funded by our fundraising team, which was established two years ago. All the teams are supported by the headquarters team in Norwich.
We are recruiting a Director of Operations & Deputy CEO with personal commitment, passion and the ability to motivate and develop staff. Your personal drive for quality and high standards should be an inspiration to all at Headway Norfolk and Waveney, our partners, commissioners and the wider community whilst embedding strong and creative performance management and measures.
The overall purpose of the role is to provide strategic leadership, operational direction and drive in relation to Headway NW’s services for clients. This role is critical in ensuring Headway NW meets our mission of improving lives impacted by brain injury. You will support and coach managers and staff to deliver high quality services, fostering a culture where staff and clients can thrive.
