Get to know Stanley
Stanley is a key support worker and plays a crucial role at Headway Norfolk and Waveney by providing one-to-one assistance to individuals with brain injuries.
As the name suggests, a key support worker is a key member of the support team, responsible for developing and maintaining a supportive and enabling relationship with the service user. They work closely with the service user to develop a person-centered care plan that addresses their specific needs, goals, and aspirations. This may include assisting with personal care, medication management, daily living skills, and emotional support.
Stanley runs the Cogwheels and Physical games sessions at the Great Yarmouth Day Service Centre.
Stanley was previously a home care worker in Norwich. He loved the social aspects that came with that job which was why Headway was such an appealing job opportunity for him.
"I really enjoy the socialising that comes hand in hand with Headway. I like hearing the stories that the clients have about their lives, as they all have special memories. What motivates me is seeing Headway have a positive influence on clients experiences, and providing them a safe space to be themselves and to work on their individual brain injuries."
Stanley really enjoys playing video games in his spare time. He supports Norwich City FC and values time spent with his family and partner.
