Brain Injury is common across our society, with it being the leading cause of Disability in the UK.
Brain Injury is also a “hidden disability” and impacts a large number of people within our society, many living with the effects of a brain injury without knowing it.
60% of the UK Prison population are living with a brain injury
48% of homeless people are living with a brain injury
1 in 2 domestic violence survivors are living with a brain injury
50% of people who suffer a Traumatic Brain Injury will have mental health issues within 6 months of the event.
Those living with a Traumatic Brain Injury are 81% more likely to attempt suicide
This training is open to anyone, however we would encourage staff from the following organisations/sectors, where prevalence of brain injury is common with service users:
Police
Probation & Prison Staff
Social Workers and Assistant Practitioners
Health and Social Care Staff (including NHS)
Domestic Violence/Victim Support
Housing and Homelessness
Mental Health & Wellbeing

This training is designed for frontline professionals working in all areas, who work with those who potentially have an Acquired Brain Injury.
The training will provide:
An overview of the Brain, its functions and how it impacts the clients we work with.
What is an Acquired Brain Injury, common symptoms and outcomes.
How symptoms impact behaviours in the people we work with.
Adjustments and ways of working with those with an ABI
Improving outcomes for the people we work with
Wider services and support
Resources and toolkits
The course is a full day, face to face course and will include resource packs to take away.
Course price varies from £200 + VAT to £325 + VAT per person for the day, with discounts available for VCSE’s.
