Headway Norfolk and Waveney has been working in collaboration with the Colman Hospital in Norwich to provide pictures of Norfolk for the walls of the inpatient department. The aim was to prompt memories for the inpatients and their carers, and brighten the work environment for the staff and visitors. The project was a great success and illustrated the skills and positive experience of those who have had a brain injury or a stroke; being able to tell a story through composition, lighting and subject matter.
The project has been nominated for an innovation award as part of the Norfolk Community Health and Care REACH awards to be held at Sprowston Manor on 9 November 2017. The project team includes our lead Occupational Therapist, Angela Page, pictured below with colleagues from the Colman hospital specialist neurological rehabilitation unit.
