We are thrilled to announce that Headway Norfolk and Waveney has been awarded a generous grant for a programme of community activities, thanks to the support of the Norfolk Community Foundation through the East of England Co-op Community Cares Fund. This funding marks a significant step forward in our mission to improve the lives of individuals living with brain injuries across Norfolk.
For those impacted by a brain injury, everyday tasks such as planning, organising, or simply getting out of the house can present real challenges. Our programme is designed to provide vital support and opportunities for those we serve to re-engage with the world around them. The activities will focus on practical skills like problem-solving, planning, and organisation, offering a pathway for clients to regain independence and confidence.
But this programme is about much more than just skill-building. It’s about connection. Our supported outings will allow participants to experience their local community in a safe and structured environment while also offering a chance to meet and bond with others who are on a similar journey. In doing so, we hope to combat one of the most significant side effects of brain injury: social isolation.
At Headway Norfolk and Waveney, we have long recognised the importance of friendship and shared experiences for those navigating life after a brain injury. Through this new initiative, we aim to help our clients not only rebuild their confidence but also foster meaningful relationships that can offer support and understanding in the long term.
We are incredibly grateful for the backing of Norfolk Community Foundation and the East of England Co-op Community Cares Fund. Their support will enable us to make a tangible difference in the lives of many people, empowering them to take steps toward a more independent and fulfilling future.
Together, we are making headway in rebuilding lives.
