Headway Norfolk and Waveney is thrilled to announce that we have received a generous £10,000 grant from Norwich Consolidated Charities. This funding is crucial in sustaining our ongoing efforts to support individuals affected by brain injury and their families throughout Norwich and beyond.
Brain injury profoundly impacts not just the individual but also their loved ones, often leading to emotional distress, social isolation, and mental health challenges. The invisible nature of brain injury frequently leaves survivors facing stigma and misunderstanding, exacerbating their difficulties. Research indicates that one in two brain injury survivors experiences anxiety or depression within a year of their injury. Without the support they need, the risk of long-term struggles increases, placing additional strain on social care services.
This grant will help Headway Norfolk and Waveney to sustain our range of services, including day support, outreach, and community groups that promote recovery and rehabilitation. These services are vital for helping individuals regain independence and rebuild their confidence, while also providing a lifeline for families who may feel isolated in their journey. Most importantly, our programs foster connection through shared lived experiences, enabling survivors and their families to reintegrate into their local communities.
Claire Boothy-Barnbrook, CEO of Headway Norfolk and Waveney, expressed our gratitude: "We are incredibly thankful for this generous grant from Norwich Consolidated Charities. It enables us to continue running essential support services for brain injury survivors and their families, ensuring they have a reliable source of help in their ongoing recovery. This funding not only sustains our vital work but also reaffirms our commitment to ensuring that no one faces the challenges of brain injury alone."
We are profoundly grateful to Norwich Consolidated Charities for their support, which will have a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by brain injury. Together, we can continue building a more inclusive and supportive community for all.
