2019 - Dial House - Cozens-Hardy LLP

In November, Headway clients and Occupational Therapists across all three centres attended a cooking workshop at the Dial House in Reepham. This wonderful day was sponsored by Cozens-Hardy LLP and completely wowed everyone who attended.

Exec chef, Chef Andrew Jones gave a cooking class to clients interested in expanding their skills and demonstrated how to make healthy, low price and most importantly delicious dishes!

A huge thank you to Dial House for delivering such a great class and to Cozens-Hardy LLP for sponsoring the event. A few quotes below from clients on the day:

‘Everyone was very respectful and the recipe was easy to follow, I feel inspired to cook at home and would love to come back to Dial House in the future’ - Robert

‘The session has really improved my confidence, getting a compliment on my cooking skills from a professional chef was amazing’ - Graham

'I thoroughly enjoyed today, I tried new food and would love to come again!' - Rory

Damian Short, partner and head of Cozens-Hardy's personal injury department, has worked closely with Headway for many years, Damian said

“The support that Headway offers clients and their families is invaluable, enabling them to make the very most of life after a brain injury. We were really pleased to be able to offer this exclusive cooking demonstration to Headway clients and hope that the event has inspired and enthused both the participants and the supporting Occupational Therapists who work with the other Headway clients.”

Laura Jones, Headway Chief Executive, added:

“At Headway, we have cooking sessions each week that allows clients to further their independent living skills, which is something we are always looking to expand on. One of the most common side effects after having a brain injury is fatigue - the team at The Dial House have produced recipes that don't take long to make, which is ideal, and have also focused on dishes with higher anti-oxidants which is healthy for the brain. Not only is this creating a more inclusive menu, but it is positively increasing independent skills for many of our clients at Headway.”
